The Roofless Church
Preikestolen
mrarchitect Terni, Italy The Roofless Church Preikestolen A church in its wide sense of the term. A place to stop, reflect, meditate, observe and get in touch with the surrounding environment. The shapes recall the ancient religious buildings characteristic of these places. The circumference refers to the symbol of unity, infinity and perfection. A building is therefore evocative, material and at the same time very light, within which there are three reference points: the sky, the water and the surrounding environment. The large portals that symbolize the columns of a temple, with their rigid scanning create shaded, dark spaces. Dark spaces that oblige the human eye to move from watching to see, just like faith for religion. Done with arch. Marco Silvi
