The former La Perla factory in Quarto Inferiore is a valuable example of high-quality industrial architecture and a recognizable landmark for its surroundings.
Its refurbishment is the occasion to give a new quality and identity to the generic suburban landscape of Quarto Inferiore, the highly accessible north-east gate to the metropolitan area of Bologna. To do so, both the façades and the structural skeleton of the building are almost integrally preserved, as well as its technological equipment, when possible. On the other hand, all internal partitions are eliminated and a set of 6 space-making devices organize the resulting open space, providing the maximum level of flexibility to accommodate the evolving needs of stakeholders and visitors.
The use of patterns and colors issued from La Perla’s historical fabrics defines a joyful and and and attractive atmosphere, remindful of the factory’s golden age.
