GREEN STEPS
Otricoli, Umbria
Green steps is a garden designed among the vineyards, with a system of terraces that solves the problem of the unevenness of 2.5 meters. A curved path connects the terraces breaking the rigid geometry of the forms and allowing the transit of small vehicles used for the the garden processing. The transition from one terrace to another in some cases is marked by "doors" of chestnut wood that also act as a support for ornamental climbing plants. This same chestnut is used to build a platform in which squares have been cut out to allow the growth of the plants that delighted the ancient vegetable-gardens (Zinnias and Heliantus), the shadow of the overhanging pergola, allows to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscape and of the vegetable garden, after the care that it requires.
