Hotel and row houses for holiday resort
Wenchang
The area is next to the shore facing the South China Sea on the east. In chinese culture it is important, living near the sea, to be able to see it from your own house. This strongly affects the price of the house. It is a symbolic principle more than practical, since beaches are less crowded than swimming pools. Plus, the high density often reduces the sea view to nothing more than a thought. The houses are aggregate in rows of five units. Each row is raised of 1.8m on an artificial platform ending on the front of the hotel at 7.2m high. The rows are rotated so that one does not prevent the view to another offering an angled view of the sea. In the central part of the platform is placed a series of waterworks: water pools, fountains, waterfalls, springs.
