Europan 11 NL, Second Prize. With LAP Studio, Alina Lippiello. The new residential area is totally immersed in a water landscape and it is well connected with both the existing urban structure and the countryside as well. All the master plan is immersed in the water, with a form of a small lake on the Northern part and irrigating the Southern part with canals between the wetlands and the housing lots. The presence of water guarantees variations to the landscape and becomes also a useful infrastructure space. During winter the water may become even a true public space where the inhabitants can skate and meet together. Moreover it guarantees the privacy of the houses, dividing each house from others.
