A large restaurant and public facilities on the small river Eem, just outside the old city center of Amersfoort. Built on the location of an old 16th century storehouse that was demolished due to its poor status - the design preserve the volume and silhouette of the old building. Though the volume resembles the past, the way it is built is of the future. The building is transparent and light, applying innovative techniques and products, and combining a wood structure with a titanium skin. It is an exercise in adding new layers to the collective memory of the city.
