The project aims to redefine the Buon Castello island between Chioggia and Sottomarina. The project regains the old connection between the two centers by a new inhabited bridge over the lagoon, that becomes part of the urban public space system connecting itself to the existing pedestrian network. All the funcions required, such as sport center and the residential buildings, are hanged on such infrastructure. The houses are located on two opposite fronts: one related with the urban morphology of Sottomarina and the other with the fishermen’s water houses. This strategy permits to keep empty the central part of the island that will be dedicate to vegetable gardens that reminds the ancient agrarian character of the island.
