The area, a vacant plot of approximately 42 hectares, is a former Yugoslav army barracks and contains different types of buildings. The Municipality has decided to dedicate this space to “educational zone” in particular by assigning it the function of University Campus to assist with sports and tourism. Concentrating the university departments in a green setting will create a stimulating environment for students. The targeted use of this area is also an important opportunity to improve the quality of life for current and future citizens, to promote sustainable economic growth, and to create viable opportunities for development of a nature-based tourism.
