| The basic concept of Italian living is CONVIVIAL-ITY: to create an empathic atmosphere among people through moments of common living, giving spaces a character of DOMESTIC FAMILIARITY.
Domesticity is not a spatial concept, but the result of people interaction.
Domestic conviviality is not only related to private environment, but at the urban scale represent the truest manifestation of the Italian modus vivendi: it “contaminates” the urban space suggesting unespected potential uses.
Domestic Urbanity doesnÂ’t need design objects, it moulds the space according to an ergonomy of conviviality.
The concept of the installation takes form through 3 basic operations:
a.Opening the box: urbanity enters the container;
b.Slicing the box: the inner space is programmatically divided in 5 strips identifing conviviality events
c.Moulding the strips: according to the programmatic sequence each strips is folded and stretched-up materializing an ergonomic landscape of conviviality.
